Chickpea Dhal Potato Cakes
You will need – • Tasty Bowl Warming Chickpea Dhal • 300g boiled potatoes (cooled) • 5g Coriander Leaves • 5g Mint Leaves • 4 tbsp Plain Flour 1. First prepare the potatoes by peeling and cutting into equal sizes if they are not already. Add the potatoes to a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Boil over high heat until they are soft enough to mash, around 20-25 minutes. 2. Whilst the potatoes are cooking roughly chop the coriander and mint. Add the herbs to a mixing bowl and pour in the Warming Chickpea Dhal. 3. Once the potatoes are cooked, drain off the water and allow them to cool off for 10 minutes. 4. Mash the cooled potatoes with a potato masher or ricer and then add this to the mixing bowl with the other ingredients. 5. Before mixing all the ingredients together add in the flour and once mix form into 8 equal size patties around 10cm in diameter. 6. Cook the dhal potato cakes in a wide frying pan. Place the pan over a medium heat and add in a tbsp of oil. Once warmed add in 4 patties at a time and cook on each side for around 3 minutes each flipping every minute. 7. Serve as a starter with raita. |
