BOSH! RED PEPPER SPELT BURGER

Cooking Instructions

Just add 250ml of freshly boiled water
1) Empty the burger mix into a mixing bowl, add the water and mix well with a metal spoon.

2) Leave the mixture to stand for 15 minutes.

3) Shape the mix into burgers using lightly floured hands. To make 4 large burgers, quarter the mixture and form into thin patties about 1.5cm thick (roughly 9cm diameter). To make mini burger sliders, divide the mixture into 8 portions and form into patties about 3cm thick (roughly 4cm diameter).

4) For best results heat 1-2 tbsp of oil in a pan and fry the burgers over a medium heat. Alternatively, pre-heat the oven to 180°C (or 160°C Fan oven / Gas mark 4) and cook on a non stick tray in the centre of the oven. Use the table below for guidance on cooking times.

Fry: 4 burgers: 5 mins each side, 8 sliders: 4 mins each side

Oven: 4 burgers: 15 mins each side, 8 sliders: 10 mins each side

For the ultimate Mediterranean style burger, layer up a ciabatta burger bun, add your red pepper spelt burger, then slather with vegan mayo, add a few sliced red onions and a couple of sundried tomatoes. Finish with a bit of basil. Job's a good'un.
