Dhal Stuffed Paratha
You will need – • Tasty Bowl Rich Lentil Dhal • 5g Coriander Leaves • 160g Plain Flour (and extra for rolling) • 3 Tsp of Vegetable Oil • 80mls Water 1. First, make the paratha dough by mixing the plain flour, water, and 1 tsp of oil in a mixing bowl. 2. Once mixed, tip the contents onto your work surface and knead for about 4 minutes until the surface of the dough is small and you can make a tight bowl. 3. Add the dough back to the bowl and leave to rest for 10 minutes. 4. Once rested, divide the dough into 10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a 15cm diameter circle. 5. Scoop an equal amount of the rich lentil dhal onto 5 of the rolled-out dough circles and use the back of a spoon to spread it around. Leave a 2cm gap around the edge of the dough. 6. Cover the dhal on each of the dough circles with another layer of dough and lightly roll again to press the filling between the layers. 7. Heat a large frying pan over a medium to high heat ready for cooking. Use the remaining 2 tbsp of oil to brush each side of the stuffed parathas. 8. Add the parathas to the frying pan one at a time. Cook for at least 90 seconds on each side until crisp and speckled with light brown spots. 9. Serve on their own or alongside a curry. |
